This bespoke engagement ring was commissioned as a customised version of one of my most recognisable sculptural ring designs.
Handcrafted in 9ct white gold, the ring is set with a glossy brown rough diamond, chosen for its natural form and depth of colour.
The Story Behind the Piece
This ring was commissioned by a client for his fiancé.
He was drawn to one of my signature ring shapes, a softly sculptural form that grows around the stone, but he wanted to personalise it through the choice of diamond.
The Design Process
The design began with my existing sculptural ring form, which I adapted to suit the proportions and character of the chosen stone.
A brown rough diamond was selected for its natural surface and subtle lustre. Rather than refining or altering it, the design allows the stone to remain central, held securely within the form of the gold.
The white gold setting was shaped to feel fluid and organic, with a soft, tactile finish that complements the raw quality of the diamond.
The Finished Piece
The result is a ring that feels both minimal and expressive.
The smooth, sculptural gold contrasts with the natural texture of the diamond, creating a piece that is quietly distinctive and easy to wear every day.
A modern engagement ring that moves away from tradition while still holding a strong sense of meaning.
