This bespoke pendant was created as a remodel, using the client’s own gold to form a one-of-a-kind piece.
Handcrafted in 18ct yellow gold, the pendant is set with a carefully selected rough diamond, held within a richly sculpted molten setting in my signature teardrop form.
The Story Behind the Piece
My client came to me with a quantity of gold she had never used.Having previously worked as a jeweller herself, the material held both value and meaning. She wanted to transform it into something wearable, a piece that felt personal and complete.
The pendant was commissioned to mark a significant birthday, making the choice of design and stone all the more important.
The Design Process
The gold was refined and reworked into a sculptural teardrop form, a shape I return to often for its simplicity and symbolism.I selected a rough diamond for the centre, choosing a stone with presence and character that would sit naturally within the molten form. The setting was built around the stone, allowing the gold to flow and form organically, creating a sense that the diamond has emerged from within the metal itself.
The Finished Piece
The result is a pendant with weight and strength. The richness of the 18ct gold contrasts with the raw surface of the diamond, while the teardrop form gives the piece a sense of balance and softness.A deeply personal piece, shaped from the client’s own material and created to mark an important moment in her life.
